Here’s another place I went at Haebangchon ShinHeung Market.
For the previous posting on the Cafe at Haebangchon, see the below posting

[Haebangchon] Le Montblanc Cake
The first posting is where I just went yesterday - Le Montblanc Cafe in Haebangchon!Haebangchon is a small district close to Itaewon, where cute shops and restaurants are at.My friend recently told me about this place ShinHeung Shijang (ShinHeung Market),
librarydream.tistory.com
So now about Bistro JoJo
It is inside the ShinHeung Market, so you need to go in a very small alley
It’s really hidden from the outside, unless you enter into the ShinHeung Market from the street
The ShinHeung Market is such a hidden gem that it does have a Harry Potter feel! :)
Especially with all the retro looks. It’s quite hip among the locals these days.
So the restaurant I went is called the Jo Jo Bistro
Their rating at the Catch Table app (which is the table booking app in Korea) was really high
So I thought I would give a shot
First, here’s a photo of the dish I ordered:
Yum yum?
The food was surprisingly good!!
From the top, they are
- Brata Cheese and marinated Eggplant
- Ragu Pasta : Really good sauce! Highly recommend
- Blue Cheese Musrhoom Gnocchi: The cheese sauce was really rich
Oh, and also the starter bread (free!)
The bread had a hint of truffle aroma
In Seoul, usually restaurants provide free bread in the beginning, but mostly just regular or toasted bread
Here, they have put some herbs and spread - which is something extra. I really liked it!
All of the above came out to be a total of KRW 64,000.
It’s a little above average for a price point, but I’d say it is not overpriced. Especially considering the quality and taste of the food.
The servers were super nice too.
Like other places in the Shin Heung Market, this place is tiny.
A few tables on the first floor
And about 3-4 tables on the second floor
The stairs are seriously steep, so beware.
They have a restroom on the second floor.
They have cutesy interior
And also an English menu!
I was able to get a seat on a Saturday lunch without reservation, but may be I was just lucky.
I recommend reserving using a Catch Table app.
So here’s the location:

Also, the servers were really nice and helpful.
Summary
(Disclaimer: This is really my personal view)
Would I visit again? Definitely! I would like to try their other dishes
